What is VFD?

A Variable Frequency Drive, or VFD, is a type of motor controller that drives an electric motor by varying the frequency and voltage supplied to the motor. A VFD increases or decreases the speed of a motor by changing the frequency of the power supplied to it. This allows for more precise control of the speed of a motor than is possible with a standard on/off switch. It also allows for more efficient operation of motors by matching the speed of the motor to the load.
