Project Estimator and Scheduler

Summary/Objective
The Project Estimator & Scheduler is field service personnel who will perform on/off-site evaluations in order to determine the cost of services including installation, maintenance, and repair activities with a focus on electrical and mechanical aspects. Their duties include predicting the cost of labor, supplies and material in order to prepare an appropriate quote and detailed report for each customer. Responsible for creating the daily schedule and ensuring all training of the field service team has been completed prior to beginning each service to be performed. Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes and other laws to be discussed with customer and field service team.
Essential Skills & Functions
• Complete all repair quotes for repairs and manufacturing times.
• Recording and comparing bids from multiple vendors and subcontractors
• Finding ways to reduce costs of equipment and supplies
• Advising people about the most cost-effective ways to construct a home or business
• Creating bills and invoices, and receiving payments from customers
• Preparing changes to costs estimates when customers change their plans, or when the availability of materials or labor changes
• Preparing schedules for construction progress to let customers know how long projects will take
• Making reports about expenses for the duration of the project
• Visiting job sites and analyzing blueprints and plans
• Possess a working knowledge of mechanical repair and fabrication on pumps, gearboxes and motors.
• Knowledgeable in welding and fabrication
• Perform tasks needed to schedule, prioritize, and complete all work to be performed by department
• Compile and review all job data for job close out
• Advising customer of building codes and other laws
• Discuss building codes, other laws and safety regulations with field service team.
Physical Demands
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, kneel, walk, turn, pivot, push, pull, reach overhead and stand for 8 or more hours a day.
• Must display excellent time management skills, be able to work with little or no supervision and communicate regularly.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures indoor/outdoor, depending upon season.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to hear well, naturally or corrected.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, typically 7:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. However, Evenings, Overtime, Saturday and Sunday may be required to meet business demand.
Work Environment
Working environment may include indoor/outdoor sites and will require constant vigilance and care. Frequency in exposure to dust, protective finishes, mechanical parts, electricity, noise and vibration.
Travel
May be required with the use of a company vehicle. Overnight travel my occur occasionally.
Requirements, Education and Experience
- Must show eligibility to work in U.S.A.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and staff. Bilingual-English/Spanish is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in an industrial setting.
- Prefer 10+ years relevant work experience.
- Ability to adapt quickly to unforeseen situations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Products.
