Procurement Specialist

Classification: Non-Exempt, Reports To: Division Manager

Summary/Objective

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for receiving material, analyze costs, offer strategies and solutions. Manage supplies, vendor services, inventory, tracking orders, resolving issues concerning price disputes, and making bids for a vendor’s services.

  • Verify Data Management information to match product and set up location of material to be stored.
  • Analyze inventory levels and product demand to determine reorder levels and safety locks that will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.
  • Perform full inventory management of materials.
  • Proactively review material supply and demand to determine push/pull actions appropriate to impact manufacturing.
  • Review material shortages, stock outages, and safety stock levels while working with Purchasing and Manufacturing to meet Customer requirements and keeping adherence to information system.

Physical Demands

• Frequently lift up to 20 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, squat, walk, turn, pivot, push, pull and sit/stand for 8 or more hours a day.
• Must display excellent time management skills, be able to work with little or no supervision and communicate regularly.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, typically 7:30a.m. – 4:30p.m.  However, evenings, overtime and weekends may be required occasionally to fulfill the business demand.

Work Environment

Working environment may include indoor/outdoor areas in various departments and will require vigilance and care.

Travel

May be required with the use of a company vehicle.

Requirements, Education and Experience

  • Must show eligibility to work in U.S.A.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience of Procurement, Material Management, and Industrial Supplies.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with vendors and staff.
  • Must be able to handle incoming calls.
  • Knowledge of database and computer application systems.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft applications.
