Outside Sales Associate

Summary/Objective

Our mission is to offer our customers electrical solutions from our vendors such as Toshiba, Siemens, ABB, TECO Westinghouse and others. The Sales Representative will utilize their knowledge and marketing materials to educate prospective clients on the benefits of the company’s products and services. This individual will travel to sales conventions, professional conventions and other events for promotional purposes in order to establish relationships with prospective customers and develop contacts to garner sales and build long-term clientele.

Essential Skills & Functions

• Contact potential customers via phone or in person to discuss services offered and answer questions.
• Deliver excellent customer service by selling products, service, quality, knowledge and integrity.
• Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education to customers during outbound calls.
• Follow up on sales to ensure customer satisfaction and continue building business relationships.
• Learn and evaluate customer operations to aid in identifying customer needs, requirements, and objectives in order to accurately quote the correct product/solution and find additional sales opportunities.
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively prospect new opportunities from both new and existing accounts.
• Work closely with the internal inside sales team and vendor support personnel to develop strategies and share knowledge regarding customers, products and sales techniques.
• A working level technical knowledge of electric motors, VFD’s, controls, starters, contactors, etc. is desired.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently lift up to 20 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, squat, walk, turn, pivot, push, pull and sit/stand for 8 or more hours a day.
  • Must display excellent time management skills, be able to work with little or no supervision and communicate regularly.
  • This position will require travel via automobile to and from customer locations. A clean driving record is required to drive a company vehicle.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.

Work Environment

Working environment includes indoor/outdoor customer sites.

Requirements, Education and Experience

  • Must show eligibility to work in U.S.A.
  • Bachelor of Business Administration or 5 years job related experience.
  • Superior written and spoken communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and client management software.
  • Proven experience as an outside sales representative.
  • Experience/Understanding of electric motors, controls and field service work is preferred.
